Each  scholarship has a value of AUD$10,000 each per annum, available for the CRICOS registered duration of a recipient’s program of study, for any Undergraduate or Postgraduate Coursework program offered at the University of Sydney (subject to the recipient maintaining satisfactory academic progress each year).
Living allowance is NOT included in the scholarships.

Undergraduate Scholarships
Applicants must have completed an Australian Year 12 qualification or an international senior secondary qualification accepted by the University with outstanding results, as deemed by the University of Sydney. Students completing Foundation Studies Programs offered by Australian or New Zealand universities are eligible. Students who have already commenced/completed tertiary studies, or students transferring with credit exemptions and/or advanced standing, are not eligible. * See Undergraduate entry requirements.
Postgraduate Scholarships
Applicants must have completed the equivalent of an Australian Bachelor degree qualification with outstanding results based on the Australian grading system, as deemed by the University of Sydney.   Students who have already commenced/completed postgraduate studies, or students transferring with credit exemptions and/or advanced standing, are not eligible.
Application instructions:
To be considered for the Sydney Achievers International Scholarship, a candidate must receive an Unconditional Offer of Admission. Applicants receiving an Unconditional Offer of Admission for will be invited to lodge an Expression of Interest. The closing date for the EOI form will be indicated in the invitation letter.

British Chevening Scholarships for International Students

Brief description:
Chevening Scholarships are the UK government’s global scholarship programme, funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organisations. The programme makes awards to outstanding scholars with leadership potential from around the world to study postgraduate courses at universities in the UK.
The programme provides full or part funding for full-time courses at postgraduate level, normally a one-year Master’s degree, in any subject and at any UK university.

Scholarship value/inclusions:
Most Chevening Scholarships cover: tuition fees; a living allowance at a set rate (for one individual); an economy class return airfare to the UK; additional grants to cover essential expenditure. Some Scholarships cover part of the cost of studying in the UK; for example, tuition fees only or allowances only. Please check the individual country pages for more details.
Eligibility:
Chevening Scholarships are for talented people who have been identified as potential future leaders across a wide range of fields; including politics, business, the media, civil society, religion, and academia. Hubert Humphrey Fellowships in USA for International Students

Brief description:
The Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program provides a year of professional enrichment in the United States for experienced professionals from designated countries throughout the world.   The Fellowship provides ten months of non-degree academic study* and related professional experiences in the United States.  Fellows are selected based on their potential for leadership and their commitment to public service in either the public or private sector.
*The Humphrey Program is a non-degree program. Participants may complete academic coursework at their host university to update their academic and professional knowledge in their field, but they do not receive an academic degree as a result of their participation in the Program.

•  A one-time computer subsidy;
•  Air travel (international travel to and from the U.S. for the program and domestic travel to required program events);
•  A Professional Development allowance for professional activities, such as field trips, professional visits and conferences.
Eligibility:
The applicant must have:
•  an undergraduate (first university) degree,
•  a minimum of five years of substantial professional experience,
•  limited or no prior experience in the United States,
•  demonstrated leadership qualities,
•  a record of public service in the community, and
•  strong English skills.

The deadlines for applicants vary by country but falls around May to September each year. Erasmus Mundus Scholarships for Developing Countries

Brief description:
The European Union offers fully-funded Erasmus Mundus Scholarships for Masters programmes and Doctorate programmes to students coming from developing countries.
These scholarships are exclusively awarded to students that have been selected to attend one of the Erasmus Mundus Joint Programmes at Masters or Doctorate level.
Host Institution(s):
European Universities/Institutions participating under approved Erasmus Mundus Action Joint Programmes.
Field(s) of Study:
For 2014-2015, about 138 Masters courses and 42 Joint Doctorate courses are supported by scholarships. The field(s) of study covered are: Agriculture and Veterinary, Engineering, Manufacture and Construction, Health and Welfare, Humanities and Arts, Science, Mathematics and Computing, and Social Sciences, Business and Law.
Number of Awards:
From the period of 2009-2013,  about 5,300 Masters students and 440 Doctoral students from developing countries will be awarded with an Erasmus Mundus Scholarship.
Target group:
Students from developing/emerging countries who do not come from the 27 Member States of the EU and who are not residents nor have carried out their main activity (studies, training or work) for more than a total of 12 months over the last five years in one of these countries.
Scholarship value/inclusions:
The programme offers full-time scholarships and/or fellowships that cover the living costs, tuition fees, travelling and insurance costs of the students.
Scholarship amounts can vary according to the level of studies/teaching/research, their duration (3 months to 3 years) and the grantee’s nationality (scholarships for non-EU individuals are higher than for EU individuals).

Please note that each Erasmus Mundus Joint Programme defines its own selection criteria and admission procedures. Students or scholars should contact the Consortium offering the Masters /Doctoral  Programmes for more information.
Application instructions:
It is now too late to apply for Erasmus Mundus scholarships for courses starting in the academic year 2014/2015.  The next application round for scholarships is for courses starting in the academic year 2015/2016. Apply during the last quarter of 2014 or in January 2015: see the consortium website nearer that time for exact dates.
For the academic year 2014/2015 you are advised to consult in advance the websites of each of the Erasmus Mundus Joint Programmes (Masters/Doctorates) that interest you. There you will find all necessary information concerning the content of the course, its structure, the scholarship amounts as well as the application and selection procedures. Deadline varies from program to program.  The deadline varies per programme but is around October to January annually.

WMF Scholarships for Developing Country Students

Brief description:
The Wells Mountain Foundation, a public charitable foundation based in Bristol, Vermont, USA, funds scholarships for individuals in developing nations or other situations of extreme poverty.

Field(s) of study:
All fields of study but fields such as  health care, social work, education, social justice, as well as, professions that help the economy and progress of the country such as computers, engineering, agriculture and business are favored.
Number of Scholarships:
28 scholars were selected in 2011.
Target group:
Citizens of developing countries
Scholarship value/inclusions:
Scholarships range from  $300.US to a rare high of $3000.US to cover part of tuition and fees, books and materials, room rent and meals.
They do not fund the following:
- education at a college, polytechnic or university in the United States, UK, Australia, or Europe  with some exceptions
- Masters or Doctorate degrees. A medical degree, however, is acceptable.
- laptop computers, conferences or trips
- debts or past due tuition bills
Eligibility:
WMF’s ideal candidate is a student, male or female, from a country in the developing world, who:
- successfully completed a secondary education, with good  to excellent grades
- will be studying in their country or another country in the developing world
- plans to live and work in their own country after they graduate
- has volunteered prior to applying for this scholarship and/or is willing to volunteer while  receiving the WMF scholarship
- may have some other funds available for their education, but will not be able to go to school without a scholarship
- submits a complete, legible 2012 application in English

Applications are done by submitting the application form together with required documents.   Applications must be received by 1 April 2014 to be considered for the 2014-2015 school year.  Applicants will be notified if they have been selected as a WMF Scholarship student by approximately 1 August 2014, with funding for the first semester by September 1.

Commonwealth Scholarships for Developing Commonwealth Countries

Brief description:
The Commonwealth Scholarships are intended for students from developing Commonwealth countries who wants to pursue Master’s and PhD study in the UK. These scholarships are funded by the UK Department for International Development (DFID).
Host Institution(s):
You are requested to apply for a course of study at  UK universities with which the CSC has a part funding agreement.
Field(s) of study:
All subject areas are eligible, although the CSC’s selection criteria give priority to those applications that demonstrate strong relevance to development.
Number of Scholarships:
Approximately 300 of these scholarships are awarded each year.
Target group:
The scholarships are targeted to citizens of Developing Commonwealth Countries.
Scholarship value/inclusions:
Each Scholarship provides airfare to and from United Kingdom, tuition and examination fees, personal maintaining allowance, thesis grant (if applicable), initial arrival allowance, among others. Please see the 2015 Commonwealth Scholarship Prospectus for full scholarship benefits.
Eligibility:
To apply for the awards covered in this prospectus, candidates should:
• Be Commonwealth citizens, refugees, or British protected persons
• Be permanently resident in a developing Commonwealth country
• Be available to commence their academic studies in the United Kingdom by the start of the UK academic year in September/October 2015
• Hold, by October 2015, a first degree of upper second class Honours standard (or above); or a second class degree and a relevant postgraduate qualification, which will normally be a Master’s degree.
Application instructions:
The CSC cannot accept any applications direct from candidates for these scholarships. All applications must be made through your nominating agency (or university/university body, if applicable) in your home country. You must check with them in the first instance for specific advice on how to make an application and for their own closing date.
All Commonwealth Scholarship candidates must be nominated by an approved nominating agency/ university/university body, and must submit their application form using the Electronic Application System (EAS).  Deadline for applications is 3 December 2014.
