Radboud Scholarship Programme for International Students

The Radboud Scholarship Programme offers a selected number of talented prospective non-EEA students the opportunity to receive a scholarship to pursue a complete English-taught Master’s degree programme at Radboud University Nijmegen.

Scholarship value/inclusions:
The scholarship is not an amount of money that you will receive in your bank account, but consists of a partial tuition waiver. The tuition fee will be waived to the level of an EEA student. For example: a grant holder in 2014/2015 will pay a tuition fee of only € 1,906, instead of € 9,570 or € 10,537. In addition the Radboud Scholarship also covers costs such as those for visa, residence permit, health insurance and liability insurance. This amounts to about € 700.
Eligibility:
Candidates who want to become eligible for a Radboud Scholarship must meet the requirements for eligibility. This means that applicants should:
    1. hold a non-EU/EEA passport
    2. are not eligible for the lower EEA tuition fee for other reasons
    3. you have (will obtain) a Bachelor’s degree achieved outside the Netherlands and have no degrees achieved in the Netherlands
    4. have been fully admitted to the English-taught Master’s degree programme as stated in the formal letter of admission
    5. are able to comply with the conditions for obtaining a visa for the Netherlands
    6. are enrolled at Radboud University as a full-time student for the academic year and Master’s degree programme for which the scholarship will be awarded.

The application for  admission and the application for the scholarship is fully integrated, there is no separate procedure for the scholarship. You apply for a Radboud Scholarship by indicating on your Master’s application form for admission that you wish to apply for a Radboud Scholarship.  You will then be requested to upload three additional documents: two recommendation letters and a curriculum vitae.  You also must have finalized your request for admission via the online application system OSIRIS Incoming Students before the deadline of 1 April 2015.

Sydney Achievers International Scholarships

Postgraduate Scholarships
Applicants must have completed the equivalent of an Australian Bachelor degree qualification with outstanding results based on the Australian grading system, as deemed by the University of Sydney.   Students who have already commenced/completed postgraduate studies, or students transferring with credit exemptions and/or advanced standing, are not eligible.

To be considered for the Sydney Achievers International Scholarship, a candidate must receive an Unconditional Offer of Admission. Utrecht Excellence Scholarships for International Students

Selected students can be awarded a scholarship that covers the tuition fee and 10.000 euro living expenses per year. However, students should be aware that the grant is not necessarily a full scholarship, and that it may be necessary to find additional funding to be able to finance study and stay completely.
Eligibility:
The applicant must meet the eligibility criteria in order to be considered for this scholarship. The applicant should:
•  Not have the Dutch or an EU/EEA nationality;
•  Hold a non-Dutch secondary school diploma;
• Have been admitted to an International Master’s programme within one of the Graduate Schools mentioned above, the Bachelor’s programme in Economics and Business Economics or to University College Utrecht;
•  Hold a relevant Bachelor’s degree (for a Master’s programme) or secondary school diploma (for a Bachelor’s programme), or an equivalent thereof;
•  Be able to comply with the conditions to obtain a Dutch visa (if applicable);
Failure to meet one or more of these criteria automatically means the student is not eligible for this scholarship.

It is not possible to apply for the Utrecht Excellence Scholarship. You must have been admitted to eligible International Master’s or Bachelor’s programmes to be considered for the scholarship. From the list of admitted students, the Selection Committee of the programme will select eligible candidates on the basis of the selection criteria set.
Prospective Bachelor’s students in Economics and Business Economics who wish to be considered for the scholarship should apply for admission before 1 April. Prospective Master’s students who wish to be considered for the scholarship should apply for admission before 1 December.

Heinrich Boll Scholarships in Germany for International Students

MENA Scholarship Programme (MSP) for Professionals from Middle East and North Africa

The Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Scholarship Programme (or MSP) offers scholarships to professionals from ten countries. The scholarships can be used for short courses in the Netherlands with a duration between two and twelve weeks.  The programme is funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

An MSP scholarship is a contribution towards the costs of the selected short course and is intended to supplement the salary that the scholarship holder must continue to receive during the study period. The following items are covered: subsistence allowance, tuition fees, visa costs, international travel costs, medical insurance and allowance for study materials.

Employers must nominate an applicant and motivate his or her application in a supporting letter. You must also meet the eligibility requirements of the short course you are applying for.

IDB Scholarships for Muslim Communities in Non-Member Countries

The Scholarship Programme for Muslim Communities in Non-Member Countries (SPMC) aims to provide educational opportunities for the academically meritorious and financially needy young Muslim students from Muslim communities in non-member countries to pursue undergraduate or first-degree study in a university in their own country or in IDB member countries, in some cases.

Students must get admission or be in the first year at a recognized college or university in their own countries. On exceptional basis and where admissions in professional courses are not possible or not available in any particular country, the IDB assists to place students from these countries in IDB member countries, which have been generous enough to provide places for the IDB students in their universities.

Scholarship value/inclusions:
The scholarships are given as interest-free loan to the students but grants to the communities to which they belong. After graduation and gainful employment, all graduates are obliged to repay their loan amount to the community (IDB Local Trusts) for recycling and awarding additional scholarships to the local needy students.
The Programme covers all relevant expenses during students’ study period, including tuition fees, health and living costs as determined by the IDB.

To be eligible for this scholarship, the student/applicant must be able to meet the following basic criteria:
•  Maximum age of 24 years
• Completed senior secondary / pre-university education with good grades in major science subjects and language of instruction
•  Secured admission in one of the disciplines covered under the Programme at a recognized college or university in their own countries
•  Not in receipt of any other scholarship at the time of application and during studies.
•  Committed and needy Muslim.
•  Recommended by the Counterpart Organization.

Eligibility/Application Requirements:
To qualify for a UTS, candidates must fulfil all of the following requirements:
·  Your programme starts in September 2014
·  You have been (provisionally) admitted to one of the above mentioned UT graduate programmes between 15 December 2013 and 15 March 2014;
·  You have to include a motivation letter in your application (250 – 500 words), this motivation letter explains: (1) What you have studied in the past; (2) What goal you want to reach through your study at UT; (3) How you plan to receive this goal; (4) Why you particularly choose to study at the University of Twente;
·  You comply with the conditions for obtaining an entry visa in the Netherlands (if applicable).
·  You comply with the general English language test requirement Academic IELTS 6.5 (or TOEFL iBT of 90) and an additional 6.0 (TOEFL iBT 20) on the subscore of speaking skills.
·  You are not eligible for a Dutch study grant.
·  You have completed a pre-master at the University of Twente (if applicable).
·  While doing your pre-master programme at the University of Twente, you may already apply for a UTS. However, you must complete your pre-master programme with a CGPA of 7.5 (out of 10) to be eligible for a UTS and comply with above mentioned requirements.

In order to apply for this scholarship, you need to be (provisionally) admitted to one of the eligible Master programmes. Therefore, you must apply for admissions first between 15 December 2013 and 15 March 2014. Only then can you apply for the scholarship. If you apply for a UTS scholarship without meeting all the requirements, your application will always be unsuccessful.  The deadline for scholarship applications is 30 March 2014.
