International Leader of Tomorrow Award-winners receive an award-level commensurate with their financial need as determined by the costs of their tuition, fees and living costs, minus the financial contribution the student and their family can make annually towards these costs.
Eligibility:
Award candidates must be nominated by their current school or college/university. To be considered for an ILOT Award you must:
- Be admissible to the first choice program you are applying to, including meeting UBC’s English Language Admission Standard
- Have an excellent academic record (at least an “A” average or equivalent standard)
- Be an international student, who is neither a Canadian citizen nor a permanent resident of Canada, and who will be studying in Canada on a Canadian Study Permit (visa)
- Demonstrate a level of financial need that would otherwise prevent you from pursuing a UBC degree.
- Be entering a UBC undergraduate degree program from a recognized secondary school, college or other university
Application instructions:
Award candidates must be nominated by their current school or college/university. UBC does not send nomination packages directly to students. When students are confirmed for nomination by their school, college, or university, their institution must use the International Leader of Tomorrow Award nomination package which can be downloaded at the official website.
The deadline for nomination packages to be received at UBC is 10 December 2014. Nominees must also complete the online application for academic admission to UBC by December 10, 2014 and meet the UBC English Language Admission Requirement by January 31, 2015.

Gates Cambridge Scholarships for International Students

Gates Cambridge Scholarships are highly competitive full-cost scholarships. They are awarded to outstanding applicants from countries outside the UK to pursue a full-time postgraduate degree in any subject available at the University of Cambridge.

A Gates Cambridge Scholarship covers the full cost of studying at Cambridge, namely: the University Composition Fee and College fees at the appropriate rate, a maintenance allowance for a single student, one economy single airfare at both the beginning and end of the course, and inbound visa costs.
The Trust also considers applications for several types of additional funding on a discretionary basis such as family allowance, conference attendance, fieldwork allowance, some fourth year funding for PhD scholars and hardship funding.

You can apply for a Gates Cambridge Scholarship if you are:
•  a citizen of any country outside the United Kingdom.
•  applying to pursue one of the following full-time residential courses of study: PhD (three year research-only degree); MSc or MLitt (two year research-only degree); or a one year postgraduate course (e.g. MPhil, LLM, MASt, Diploma, MBA etc.)
• OR already a student at Cambridge and want to apply for a new postgraduate course. For example, if you are studying for an MPhil you can apply for a Gates Cambridge Scholarship to do a PhD. However, if you have already started a course, you cannot apply for a Gates Cambridge Scholarship to fund the rest of it.
• OR already a Gates Cambridge Scholar and want to apply for a second Scholarship. You must apply by the second, international deadline and go through the same process of departmental ranking, shortlisting and interviewing as all other candidates.

You must apply for admission as a postgraduate student to the University of Cambridge and a Gates Cambridge Scholarship at the same time, using the one application pack. The deadline for applications is 2 December 2014 for citizens other than the US and 15 October 2014 for US citizens.

Reach Oxford Scholarships for Developing Country Students

Eligibility:
This scheme is only suitable for candidates of the highest academic ability who have outstanding examination results. However, financial need and social commitment are also major criteria for selection.  Applicants should be intending to return to their country of ordinary residence following their studies.
Application instructions:
Students should note they must apply for admission to the University before they can be considered for a Reach Oxford Scholarship. The University is unable to accept any scholarship applications from students who have not been offered a place at Oxford.

Clarendon Fund Scholarships at University of Oxford

The Clarendon Fund is a major graduate scholarship scheme at the University of Oxford, offering around 140 new scholarships every year. Clarendon Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic excellence and potential across all degree-bearing subjects at graduate level at the University of Oxford.

Selection criteria vary slightly depending on the subject area and whether applicants apply for a taught or research degree, but include: excellent academic record, aptitude for the proposed course of study, and student’s motivation.
Application instructions:
By applying for graduate study at Oxford University, you will automatically be considered for a Clarendon Scholarship. You do not need to submit any additional documents specifically for the Clarendon Scholarships and there is no separate scholarship application form.  You do, however, need to apply by the January application deadline (9 January or 23 January 2015) in order to be considered for the scholarship.
